Probably one of the most photographed spots on 17 mile drive. The Lone Cypress Tree is the official symbol of Pebble Beach and get this....it's trademarked. Bake in the 90's it was trademarked so now it's against the law to use the tree for any commercial purposes.

It's a lovely shot. I've got to say though that the idea of trademarking something like a naturally occurring tree (as opposed to a drawing someone has created of a tree, for example) kind of pisses me off. Next are we going to have a shot of a certain stretch of beach trademarked etc.
