If your walking down Higuera Street in downtown San Luis Obispo
you may miss the most unique landmark of this
awesome college town.
Bubblegum Alley....
It is a 15-foot (4.6 m) high and 70-foot (21 m) long alley lined
with chewed gum left by passers-by.
The history of how it got started varies by who you ask
but it started sometime after WWII.
In the 1970's the wall was cleaned twice but since then it hasn't been touched.
People leave notes, make their names out of the gum.....
it's creative, gross and totally cool!
The best part of the experience was listening to all the comments
of the other passerby's.
Some people wouldn't even walk down the alley because they were
so freaked out about the germs.
I loved visiting the wall. It's not something you see everyday.
