My 2012 in Review

1. What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?

I got a dog!
Stella came into our family mostly because I begged, whined, pleaded for her. I have wanted a dog for a long time and was so happy to finally be able to add one to our family.

 

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't make resolutions but this past year I picked a "one little word" that I used at my motto.
FAITH became the word I clung to get me through some rough times.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Probably.....I have 50 some odd nieces and nephews and there is always someone pregnant in our family. I know I had a nephew this year and a great-niece.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

thankfully no

5. Did you visit anywhere exciting?

Nothing really exciting but I took a ton of day trips. I think the best day trip was Yosemite.

 

6. What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?

work security for not only me but my husband
 

7. What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

July 18th - the 10th Gotcha Day of the boys becoming my sons.

 

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Probably winning best of division for one of my photographs at our County Fair.

 

9. What was your biggest mistake?

Taking a job that I really knew wasn't right for me but I was so desperate to get out of my old job that I took it anyway. Fortunately that job only lasted 9 months.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Yup - a torn Achilles tendon.
So far I have been able to circumvent surgery but I have a feeling in the next year or so I am going to have to have the surgery.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

My macro lens!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

My husbands....he really isn't happy at his job but still goes to work, does his best and stays positive.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Oh that list is LONG......

14. Where did most of your money go in 2012?

Fuel for the cars...that's for sure

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Day trips during the summer.

16. What song will always remind you of 2012?
93 Million Miles

 

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:

i. happier or sadder? Overall, I'm happier.

ii. thinner or fatter? I'd say about the same...not what I planned.

iii. richer or poorer? Richer, but not by much.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

cooked more

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

spent money - but don't we all.
 

20. How did you spend Christmas?

We had some neighbor friends over to watch my Alum college football team loos! (Fresno State)
 

21. Did you fall in love in 2012?

With my puppy

22. What was your favorite TV program?

Revenge

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

No.

24. What was the best book you read?

It would be a tie between Wonder and City of Tranquil Nights.

 

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?

I have no clue

 

26. What did you want and get?

An ipad, a puppy and a macro lens

27. What did you want and not get?

 A new car but that' pretty much a pipe dream right now

28. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 42 this year. I think we went to dinner but I really don't remember.
It was obviously very exciting!
 

29. What's one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

I went on adventures (day trips) as often as possible. I love going out and finding new places and I'm really glad this year I did it. I already have a list of things to go see in 2013.

30. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?

I'm am normally a casual jeans/boots person but with my new job I have to dress a bit nicer. I have loved finding new styles that work for my personality as well as work. I found some new fun stores this year and love the new style I have developed for myself.

31. What kept you sane?

Night walks with my dog

36. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012?

Keep looking forward.
I have learned to not look back, have faith in today and hope in the future.

37. What are your new years resolutions for 2013?

Try new things, not be afraid of what is coming tomorrow,
kick ass at work, love more, read more, relax more.
